To celebrate the victory in legendary Carrera Panamericana road race hosted in Mexico in 1952, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a stripped-out version of its latest supercar – the SLS AMG. The new roadster with gull wing doors has close affinities with the road-going version of the SLS AMG.

Dubbed as SLS AMG GT3, this vehicle which is a joint venture between AMG and HWA features many upgrades with a more aggressive aerodynamic package, revised front fascia, side winglets and massive rear wing, to count a few.

If we talk about the performance, AMG is yet to have a final say on the specs and power figures for the vehicle yet it is expected that SLS AMG GT3 will be powered by the same 6.3-liter V8 with 563hp that powers the road-going model.

On the other, SLS AMG GT3 features new safety upgrades and with the extensive use of carbon fiber and deleted passenger seat, the vehicle will be lighter too. Also, to put up with those 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels the SLS AMG GT3 features more substantial fenders with added 50mm of width over the stock SLS AMG road car.
