The cities around the world are facing a tough challenge to dump the rubbish and Beijing is no exception. Well, the authorities, however, have found a solution to reduce the stink around a landfill but it’s other way round.

Responding to a complaint about Asuwei dump crisis, Chinese authorities have installed 100 deodorant guns that will spray fragrance around the site to ease the residents of stink that has made their lives miserable.

The Fragrance Guns will be installed by May this year and each is capable of spraying gallons of fragrance per minute at a distance of 164 foot. The vehicles for the purpose are made by Chinese firms and are based on German and Italian technology.

The huge population in Beijing produce the too big heaps of garbage that city can handle and recycling for the same remains merely 4 percent which is very low in comparison to 25 and 36 percent recycling rate for London and New York respectively.

However, it seems too temporary a solution for a problem too big asking for serious measures. I believe, people in China will prefer for fresh air to fragrance sprays and long term solutions of the problem to a temporary one.
