Well, driving in long and winding roads was never so easy before, thanks to the Adaptive Forward Lighting System (AFL). The head lamps on 2010 Buick LaCrosse partially follow the curves and helps driver see the things before they are in headlights. Amazing, isn’t it?

The AFL – an advanced lightening system with its front headlamps rotating up to 15 degrees at varying speeds (depending on the severity of the curve and the speed) with respect to the steering direction incorporates a Bi-Xenon or High Intensity Discharge (HID) projector.

The high tech light source doubles light output thus improving the visibility in comparison to traditional headlamps, making nighttime and inclement weather driving easier and safer. On the other, it decreases the energy consumption by 33% in comparison to traditional halogen headlamp bulb.

The system assists the driver by giving him a better view of the road ahead, thus reducing the possibility to hit animals, humans etc. on the road side, particularly in the nighttime driving.
