UK racing specialists McLaren has come up with a gull-winged 200mph supercar dubbed ‘an F1 car for the road’. This £150,000 McLaren MP4-12C is Britain’s answer to the Italy’s legendary Ferrari.

The cars will be made in a new £40million factory designed by Sir Norman Foster; this car will be made of one-piece carbon-fiber chassis will bear the price tag of £150,000.

McLaren’s F1 car for the road will be powered by a massive 3.8 liter twin turbo engine which develops 600bhp which is equivalent to about six Ford Fiestas. The two seater MP4-12C can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.4 seconds, thanks to aerodynamic styling designs to keep it on the ground at such a high speed.

In order to keep weight down and performance high, MP4-12C is made of lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber. This car also has seven speed F1-style paddle-shift with intuitive gears that are called ‘pre-cog’ for pre-cognition.

On the other, McLaren’s F1 car has it length at 14ft, its width at 6ft 1in, and its height at 3ft 10in and 5ft when gull-wing doors closed and opened respectively. The weight of its chassis is merely 81kg and 1300kg as a whole.

MP4-12C’s fuel economy rate is around 22mpg and for the places other than the open roads, this new car features parking sensors, cruise control, and optional sat-nav.
