Number-Plategate Continues: Second Set of Offensive Number Plates Found in Jeremy Clarkson’s Abandoned Porsche

Top Gear's Argentina fiasco according to Jeremy Clarkson
Jeremy Clarkson and the rest of the Top Gear film crew may have escaped Argentina, but the spat that sent them fleeing the South American country is still roiling. Entered into evidence is today's news from the Mirror, which is reporting that Argentinian officials found a second set of offensive license plates inside Clarkson's abandoned Porsche.

The thing is, while we could see how the initial plate fracas could tick off Argentinians—the "H982FKL" tag on Clarkson's car could be construed as a reference to the 1982 Falklands War between the country and the U.K. The latest alleged smoking gun is a new set of plates found inside Clarkson's abandoned Porsche that read "BE11 END (bellend)," a crass English way of describing part of what Jezza might call a "gentleman's sausage." That's kind of gross, but it could just be a case of the hosts planning to tweak each other—as they often do—rather than offend the Argentinians.

Yet, according to the Mirror, local officials claim to believe that the BE11 END number plate was yet another potential provocation to the state. Top Gear claims the plate was intended for an ultimately scrapped closing scene for the episode expected to come out of the show's Argentine adventure.
