Every detail on the second-gen Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid will be laid bare at next week's Detroit auto show, but its maker couldn't help providing a sneak peek, revealing the car at an event in Las Vegas ahead of the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show.
Well, sort of. The curtain was peeled back for less than a minute, the car was black, and the lighting was harsh, which meant that little was truly revealed even in person. What we could tell: It looks both more conventional and more upscale, seemingly cribbing design cues from Acura. (Peep that beaky grille, yo.)

Nothing else was added to the conversation, meaning what Chevrolet has already discussed—optimized charging, the fact that it will be quicker, have more battery capacity and range, and have a new range-extending engine—remains the only confirmed information about the new car. We do know it will continue to share a basic architecture with the Chevy Cruze, and that it may be offered in two strengths, with the basic car perhaps being called the Bolt. If you want more info, well, be patient—it's only going to take a week. You can wait that long, right?
