The official unveiling of the 2016 Honda Pilot is just two weeks away at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, but, hey, the new crossover ain't here yet. These spy shots of the Pilot's dashboard give us an even clearer look at what to expect from the yet-to-be-revealed SUV—and our first peek at its redesigned cabin.
The photos don't give us much, but they do provide a glimpse at the Pilot's freshened infotainment system and HVAC controls. Not surprisingly, the layout is simple, placing a touchscreen infotainment system above a bank of conventional climate controls. (Mercifully, the needlessly fussy dual-screen setup from the top-spec Honda Odyssey is missing here.) The central display is particularly large, but unfortunately it does appear to follow the lead of other recent Honda products by doing away with the physical volume knob; we assume it's replaced by a digital slider on the touch screen.

These prototypes also appears to have a stitched dashboard wrap treatment, as well as a smoothly integrated instrument cowl. As for the exterior, the heavy camo wrap doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know—basically, the Pilot likely will look like a super-size version of the CR-V and HR-V. Exactly how much it will mimic its little brothers we likely won't know for a couple more weeks. Unless, of course, one of our wily shooters captures one without its camo in the meantime.
