Porsche Leaks Images of Macan Mules with All the Subtlety of a Sledgehammer

2015 Porsche Macans

With all the subtly of a sledgehammer, Porsche is releasing photos and info on its upcoming Macan crossover—little brother to the Cayenne—one crumb at a time. We're only a month from the Macan's debut at the L.A. auto show, but in order to keep us entertained until then, Porsche has posted a few photos of Macan prototypes—with no more camo than Scotch tape covering the head- and taillamps—to its Facebook page.

As it turns out, the headlights and most of the crossover's front end are very Cayenne-like, albeit slightly more aggressive, so the subtle tape job works seamlessly. The profile, too, apes its big brother, although the wheelbase betrays the Macan's stubbier proportions.

As we discovered earlier this year via information leaked from a Porsche dealer meeting, the Macan will launch with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 serving in the S model, as well as a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 powering the Macan Turbo. Final details, as well as a full reveal of the baby Porsche crossover, will be revealed next month, live from Los Angeles.
