Even prior to the unveil of BMW's Concept M4 Coupe this summer, it didn't take a crazy-ass old lady with a crystal ball to figure out what M GmbH's hotted-up 3- and 4-series would look like. Amplified fender flares, a barely-there lower front fascia that largely serves as one giant intake, quad exhaust outlets, a power-dome hood, the requisite M trinkets—you have an M3/M4. But now your eyes can do the work that your imagination doesn't want to, as we've captured the new M3 sedan completely uncovered.
This production-spec M3 was caught by a right-place-right-time motorcyclist as it was being filmed by BMW. Hiding beneath the muscular hood is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six that spits out 430 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. We recently had the opportunity to ride in prototype-spec M3s and M4s, and the engine is every bit as burly as you'd think, with the 74 additional lb-ft of torque over the E90 generation instigating an epic battle for grip between the tires and the pavement.

The 2015 BMW M3 will make its officially sanctioned debut the 2014 Detroit auto show in January alongside the two-door M4. There, the final details will be spilled before the pair go on sale early next year.
