SRT's latest Viper sports car arrived last year packing a few modern upgrades, including a decent interior, stability control, and, of course, launch control. That last feature would seem critical, because with 640 horsepower on tap and a good ol' fashioned six-speed manual transmission, launching the Viper with maximum vigor is an exercise best undertaken by experienced pilots.
And so SRT's launch-control program—activated with a push of a steering-wheel button—makes the process a little more straightforward. What we wanted to know, though, was whether one of our seasoned test drivers could beat it. As our video shows, yes, he most certainly can. Click the play button to see just how it's done.
