Vehicles Affected: 10,474 model-year 2008-2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution sports sedans manufactured between Dec. 12, 2007, and March 5, 2013.
The Problem: The clutch master cylinder could fail, reducing the ability to shift the vehicle into or out of gear, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected clutch master cylinder for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mitsubishi will begin notifying owners around Nov. 11. Owners can call Mitsubishi at 888-648-7820, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more info.
