Excited for BMW's redesigned 2015 M3 sedan and newly christened M4 coupe? We are—especially after we recently got a tantalizing ride in a prototype of each. Well, this particular hump day comes with quite the bump—in the form of a seemingly complete dealer order guide for the high-performance BMW sedan and coupe. The document leaked onto BMW forum Bimmerpost.com, and although it lacks prices, it gives us our first look at what buyers can look forward to adding to their M3 or M4 early next year.
According to the guide, standard equipment and no-cost options include 18-inch wheels, power seats, carbon-fiber interior trim, heated front seats, and navigation. As for the optional stuff, we'll cover just a few of the standout items here. (For the complete order guide, visit Bimmerpost.) The interior will be available in a variety of different-colored leathers, but the standard setup is a black cloth/leather combination. Three option packages are listed: Driver Assistance Plus, which brings blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and collision mitigation, side- and top-view cameras, and speed-limit info; Lighting, which includes full LED headlights and automatic high beams; and Executive, which adds a heated steering wheel, keyless entry, a rearview camera, park distance control, a head-up display, and a Merino leather interior. Interestingly, the color palette does not include any red—instead, there are two whites, a gray, a black, a yellow, a silver, an orange, and the blue hue we spied yesterday.

Key standalone options include carbon-ceramic brakes (which require optional 19-inch wheels), the M dual-clutch automatic transmission (yep, a manual is standard!), and an adaptive M suspension. Those who long for the days of basic, motorsports-derived M cars should probably ignore the optional power rear sunshade, sunroof (which deletes the carbon-fiber roof panel), and "Enhanced USB and Bluetooth" gear.
After having witnessed BMW's new Yas Marina Blue and the M cars' handsome interiors, we're especially eager to see how well the new slate of interior treatments complement the M3 and M4′s insides when the cars debut in January at the Detroit auto show. Expect pricing details on all these goodies to be revealed in between the cars' debut and their on-sale date in the spring.
