If a raised version of the S60 sedan isn't what Volvo sedan shoppers are looking for, then maybe it's an extra-long version. Volvo unveiled the S60 Cross Country ahead of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the S60 Inscription will follow.

The Inscription offers 3.4 inches of additional rear legroom, which Volvo says results in best-in-class space. Aside from the extra length, the model will wear premium materials, including linear Walnut trim and silk metal detailing, as well as Inscription badging. Power will come from the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder T5 unit with front- and all-wheel drive.
It will be made at Volvo's plant in Chengdu, China, but "tailored to meet the discerning requirements of U.S. consumers," Volvo said in a statement. The S60 Inscription goes on sale this summer; no word yet on pricing.
