Now That’s Cheap Transportation: $75 Pickup Got Minnesota Man Back and Forth to Work—for 38 Years

Guy buys truck for $75, drives it to work for 38 years

Bob Sportel may be the master of return on investment. When he was in his early 20s, he took a job with the local farmer's co-op in Prinsburg, Minnesota and promptly bought a hammered 1957 Chevrolet truck from a customer. Sportel needed cheap transportation to get him to and from work, and the truck fit the bill for the next 38 years.

Yep. Sportel drove this thing to and from work every day until he recently retired. Local NBC affiliate KARE11 stopped by to take a look at the old Chevy and the man who drove it for the better part of half a century. Check it out by heading over to the KARE11 site.
