That didn't take long. Jaguar's C-X17 "design study" SUV shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show is on its way to production as the F-Pace, Jaguar announced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The automaker's director of design Ian Callum says in a statement that Jaguar received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the concept that the automaker had to make it a reality.

In production form, the F-Pace will have room for five occupants, feature all-wheel drive and take high-performance inspiration from Jaguar's F-Type coupe and roadster. The teaser photo Jaguar released clearly shows that inspiration in the taillight and badging. Jaguar doesn't call the F-Pace an SUV, but rather a "performance crossover," featuring aluminum construction like the new compact Jaguar XE S and an "advanced suspension system."
The F-Pace goes on sale in 2016. Jaguar says we'll have full F-Pace details later this year.
