Winter may have been a little late arriving this season in parts of the country, but that didn't stop folks from running out and buying SUVs and trucks in December. Thirteen of the 19 fastest-selling cars last month were SUVs or trucks. The other six? Well, four of those were all-wheel-drive-equipped Subaru models.

The wagon that acts like an SUV — the Subaru Outback — was the fifth nameplate from the brand to make the fastest list. That's an impressive feat since the brand only has nine models.
Ford's new F-150 — perhaps you've heard about it — sold in in just nine days, which was December's third fastest, while Chevrolet's recently redesigned Colorado took just 11 days to sell.
December is generally not a prime time to buy a sports car, coupe or convertible as the Slowest-Sellers list proves: six of its 10 inhabitants are one of those body styles. Kia's attempt at a large luxury sedan, the K900, remains on the list another month, taking 133 days to sell despite NBA superstar Lebron James starring in its latest commercials.
In December 2013, one convertible actually topped our Fastest-Sellers list: The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray took only four days to go home. How did that convertible fare a year removed from being on every car magazine cover? It took just 19 days to sell a 2015 version of the droptop in December 2014.
Overall, it took an average of 36 days for a new car to go home with a buyer from the day it arrived at the dealership, which is what our data tracks. That's up just a tick from December 2014.
The full lists are below along with a handful of our picks for shoppers looking to get a deal. These Cars.com picks might not be getting the attention of buyers, but they still rank highly with our editors.

About the Lists
The Fastest- and Slowest-Selling Cars list reports the average number of days it takes to sell models from the day they arrive on the lot until the final paperwork is signed by a buyer. This is not a days-of-inventory list like you may find on other websites. With lots mostly clear of 2014 models, we look exclusively at 2015s.
For the fastest sellers, we only list vehicles that pass a certain threshold of sales in order to weed out limited editions, ultra-high-performance cars and others that might skew the numbers or otherwise inaccurately portray popularity. To highlight all slow sellers, slowest sellers have no such threshold.
Our Picks highlight cars that take a significant time before they're sold and might be overlooked by shoppers. Dealers could be more motivated to sell these cars.
