Ford has started the year with a bang at Detroit 2010 by clinching two awards at the same time. Yes, Ford Transit Connect has been named the truck of the year, beating its two nearest rivals – the Chevrolet Equinox and Subaru Outback. Ford Transit Connect is a compact 2.0L Duratec L4 engine truck. It’s sliding doors, 180 degree swing standard rear doors, low height, small size, 15″ wheels, provides 135 cubic ft. of cargo space inside, over 1600 lbs of load bearing capacity, and is fuel efficient – having up to 25 mpg and 22 mpg on the highway and in city drive respectively. Ford Transit connect has a big fuel tank of 15.4 gallon and that is enough for 375 miles. Its steering can handle steep turns effectively as it allows steering 39 ft. turning circles. It also has 4 speed automatic transmission that gives 135 horsepower. On the top of this, Ford Transit Connect is affordable at starting retail price of $21,475. And this was enough for the jury to have their choice bestowed on the Ford Transit Connect.

Whereas, the Ford Fusion Hybrid car added another jewel to Ford’s crown, as it’s been named car of the year for North America at Detroit 2010.
