Lotus Motorsport has just announced the introduction of the Evora Cup car that will compete in its own spec series in 2010. In order to get Lotus Evora ready for the racing tracks, it’s fitted with a larger 4.0-liter V6 engine that makes an impressive 395hp and power is routed through a six-speed Cima sequential race gearbox. Evora weighs just 2,600 pounds and that is after Lotus has put 440 pounds off the road car. It also has a mid-engine layout, high-tech, super-stiff extruded and bonded aluminum chassis and double wishbone suspension all round.
Lotus Evora Cup car is built to FIA GT4 specs and will be eligible to run in many international racing series. It’ll first be unveiled at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham, England while full details will be released at the Geneva Auto Show in March and will cost about £120,000, plus taxes.
