Porsche revealed the brand new 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 R at the Racing Car Show, Autosport International in Birmingham, UK. It’s a further development of the 911 GT3 Cup, and the new R model is designed to replace the 911 GT3 Cup S in Porsche Motorsports’ model range.
The new model weights 1200kg and the GT3 R six-cylinder boxer engine has been upgraded from 3.8 liter to 4.0 liter, which is matted to a six-speed sequential gearbox that transmits the power to the rear axle. More images after the jump.
The upgraded engine delivers 480hp which is 30hp more than the GT3 S model. Also, the car comes with an anti-lock brake system, traction control and an e-gas with throttle-blip function. The base price of the GT3 R is 279,000 Euros and that will be without local sales tax/VAT with first deliveries to customer are expected to begin in the spring.
