Spyker inks deal to buy Saab from GM

Finally to the relief of GM, its lame horse, SAAB, has been sold to Dutch luxury carmaker, Spyker. In a deal signed with GM, Spyker has agreed to pay $74m in cash and GM would also get $326m worth of preferred shares in Saab. On the other hand, as the deal has been inked, the Swedish govt. has also agreed to guarantee a $563m loan Saab had requested from the European Investment Bank. And this loan guarantee is seen as vital oxygen for the sales.
