Dear Justin,
It has come to our attention here at Car and Driver that you were recently caught street racing a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and arrested on charges of DUI, driving on an expired license, and resisting arrest. You've been in vehicular trouble before, having annoyed the crap out of your neighbors by tearing through your fancy gated community at warp speed in your chrome Fisker Karma, Batman-logoed Cadillac CTS-V coupe, and whatever other aesthetically perverted cars you own.
It's not the so-called racing that bothers us most—to be sure, on its own, such an act is dangerous at best and lethal at worst, even at the 60 mph you were said to be traveling when the cops stopped you—it's the fact that you were reportedly drunk and high while doing so. While drag racing on a residential street shows appalling disrespect for the property and lives of others, doing so, police say, while under the influence of marijuana, alcohol, and prescription pills takes your reputation for irresponsible behavior to an entirely new stratosphere.
So we're proposing a challenge: A race on a road course of your choosing, on a date that won't conflict with any of your pending appointments with the Florida judicial system. You need to learn respect for the lives and property of your fellow citizens and for the capabilities of the cars you own. The ball's in your court, Beebs.
