Fans of the industrial-chic aesthetic, rejoice! Due to popular demand, the limited-production, urban-cool Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition introduced last year is returning for 2014. Nothing about the car's manly designer-inspired appearance has changed inside or out—it's still black with dark titanium window trim, badges, and grille surround with an equally dark interior—but it does have something most folks in the Rust Belt could use this snowy winter: Newly available all-wheel drive. To be clear, buyers could get their hands on a Varvatos-badged 2013 300C with all-wheel drive, but it was the more subdued 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition; Chrysler hasn't yet said whether that model will also return.
Chrysler says that the only difference between all-wheel-drive 300C JV models and their rear-drive counterparts is wheel size. Rear-drivers get 20-inch rims, while all-wheel-drive versions are stuck with 19s. Otherwise, both come standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 making 292 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 363-hp, 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is optional, and we think it's the better choice for folks intent on living out the John Varvatos Limited Edition's bruiser attitude to the fullest. Inside, the cabin is still a cornucopia of black and pewter-colored Poltrona Frau leather with gray stitching, titanium chrome trim, and gauges inspired by Varvatos's watches. Overall, Chrysler rates the look as "industrious" and exceptionally "Imported from Detroit." We think the "Imported from Gary, Indiana," tagline could work equally well—that color scheme is pure northwest Indiana—but we might be alone on that one.

The 300C JV Limited Edition's price holds nearly firm, increasing a negligible $135 for the rear-drive version to $45,475. The new all-wheel-drive JV Limited Edition starts at $47,975. Look for the rides to appear in a rough urban jungle near you starting in March.
