Chrysler's Ram Commercial Truck division will import a small panel van to the U.S. for the 2015 model year. Based on the Fiat Doblo, the new Ram ProMaster City will join the existing Fiat Ducato-based Ram ProMaster full-size van in U.S. showrooms next year. The Doblo is also currently sold in Europe as the Opel Combo.
The ProMaster City van bolsters Ram's presence in the emerging light-commercial box-van market. The Turkish-built ProMaster City will compete with other fresh small-van entries, including the Ford Transit (now in its second generation here in the States), the Nissan NV200, and its badge-engineered Chevy City Express sibling.

No details have been released on engines and transmissions, but the Doblo is available with gas- and diesel-powered four-cylinder powerplants in Europe. The Ram ProMaster City will be available in both commercial and passenger versions, much like Ford's Transit Connect. Expect to see a version with contemporary Ram Truck styling language and hear more details about ProMaster City features and technology at the Chicago auto show in February.
