Let's cut to the chase: The 2014 Volkswagen Eos is just too darned expensive. Cars.com reviewer Jennifer Geiger said the hardtop convertible's looks are handsome but not sexy; its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is peppy but dragged down by an unrefined automated manual transmission; and the interior is nice but nothing special. All told, despite being fun and comfortable, the Eos just doesn't offer enough of, well, anything to justify paying as much as $42,560 (including destination) for the top trim when competing luxury brands can be had for less while offering more.
