Why Volkswagen ever called its station wagon a Jetta is something of a mystery. The Jetta SportWagen may have used those underpinnings of its namesake sedan, but those components were shared with the Golf—and the SportWagen used the Golf's bodywork, to boot. So now that the seventh-generation Golf is set to arrive on our shores, its MQB platform not shared with the Jetta and ultimately marking the product lines' divorce, it's only natural that the SportWagen that again shares components and bodywork with the Golf finally receive a fitting name: Golf SportWagen.
