If your idea of a cutting-edge racing video game includes RC Pro-Am for NES or Outrun for Sega Genesis, you may want to walk your Luddite self into the 21st century. Today, games like Forza Motorsport 5 and Gran Turismo 6 have elevated the car-racing genre to near high art. But a new challenger called Project CARS is entering the racing-game arena, and the folks developing the title have released a sweet video showing just how realistic their offering will be.

In the video, a BMW M3 tackles Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca simultaneously in real life and in the game via a split-screen view. We must admit that, while Project CARS looks good, we're looking forward to playing the game for ourselves to see how it stacks up against the established games.
