Ford King Ranch Trio Heads to King Ranch, Takes 4000 Selfies

2015 Ford King Ranch Models

Texas takes to Ford trucks like a cowboy to a rib eye. They just love 'em, especially when the chrome badges say the rigs come from their own backyard. And so, for the last 15 years, Ford has wooed its Texan truck customers with kitschy, rural-themed King Ranch versions of its F-Series pickups, named after the Rhode Island-sized ranch situated about 40 minutes southwest of Corpus Christie. How better, then, to celebrate the crystal anniversary of the partnership than to take the new 2015 model-year King Ranch versions of the F-Series Super Duty, the all-new F-150, and the Expedition on a four-day selfie tour of the place?

The photos—some 4000 of 'em—were shot with the help of Wyman Meinzer, the same guy then-governor George W. Bush named State Photographer of Texas back in 1997. "King Ranch vehicles are made to kick butt, to get in the brush and dunes and mud holes," Meinzer said. "We tried to present them in the conditions you'd actually see on a ranch."

Don't worry, we won't make you look at all 4000 of them here, but if you want to see more than the selection we have here, head over to Ford.com. Or git yerself on down to the 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, which runs from March 4 to March 23, 2014. There, you'll see a gallery of Meinzer's photos, all three of the King Ranch trucks, and plenty of cowhide, both inside and outside the vee-hicles.
