It looks like MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi's tryst with Fiat is about to get complicated—the Italian automaker sponsors Rossi's Yamaha team—thanks to this special-edition Opel Adam VR|46. Like the Adam itself, the VR|46 is a Europe-only ride, but one that commemorates the talents—and signature fluorescent yellow color and number 46—of the man known as The Doctor. No word on how Fiat feels about this, but "molto triste" might be accurate.

Rossi's unique Adam is based off of another unique Adam, the sporty-looking Adam SLAM. (Capitalization Opel's, not ours.) It is available in four colors—black, yellow, red, and white—and buyers can choose from three different roof treatments: carbon black, matte black, and dull gray. There is neat fluorescent yellow VR|46 badging, as well as splashes of the bright color on the wheel spokes. It looks quite neat, but we wonder if this means Rossi's "in" with Ferrari (he snagged a few test sessions with Ferrari's Formula 1 team nearly a decade ago) has officially come to a close. Either way, the real "win" here is for Opel, which managed the near-impossible: making a minicar look cool.
