The man behind the P4/5, Jim Glickenhaus, means business. And he has the car to prove it.
This is the first official look at the long-awaited SCG 003, as it hits the track for the first time. Jim told us it'd be wearing camo. He wasn't kidding.

We previously saw footage of the car starting up for the first time in the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus factory in Turin—now, here it is under power, with its Autotecnica Motori Honda-based race-spec engine in full song.
The idea behind SCG 003 is that it will be fully modular. Glickenhaus wants to drive it on public roads to the venue, swap in the race-spec bits, and hit the track. It's a neat idea that harks back to a different era of racing. The P4/5 Competizione showed that Jim is entirely capable of putting together a competitive clean-sheet race car.
SCG 003 goes further—it'll be available to customers, too, and as you can see, it's gorgeous. Jim describes the design as "LMP for GT", which makes total sense seeing the finished product.

Here's what Glickenhaus said about this first track test, which put team driver Nicola Larini behind the wheel:
"We told Nicola to do two laps. After five we had to stand in the center of the track to bring him in. He was very emotional. It's like driving an F1 car, and unlike others, he would know."
This is chassis #1, which will make its world debut in Geneva in March and then be put to the test in competition at the Nürburgring 24 in May.
This is going to be good.
