Nissan Recalls 134,000 U.S. Vehicles for Potential Fuel Leaks

Nissan JukeNissan has announced a recall affecting about 134,000 vehicles sold in the United States for a potential fuel-leak problem, the Associated Press reports. The problem, which affects the Nissan Juke and several Infiniti models, revolves around improperly tightened fuel-pressure sensors in direct-injected engines that could come loose and cause fuel leaks.

The recall affects 2012 through 2014 Nissan Juke crossovers; 2012–2013 Infiniti M56 sedans and QX56 SUVs; and 2014–2015 models of the QX70 and QX80 utility vehicles. Nissan says no fires or injuries have been reported in relation to the defect.

The U.S. recall is part of a global action covering about 470,000 of the automaker's vehicles. Nissan will begin alerting owners by January 26, 2015, with dealership service departments inspecting and replacing the affected fuel-pressure sensors if needed.
