Just in time for that balmy weather December is known for, Ford just announced that drop-top models of the all-new 2015 Mustang will hit dealerships this week. Hey, with the top down, you can make the most of the shortest day of the year.
When those first ragtop 'Stangs roll out on the dealership floors, they'll command a $5500 premium over their fastback V-6 and V-8 counterparts; meanwhile, EcoBoost 4-cylinder droptops sticker at a whopping $9500 more than their turbo-four coupe siblings. That shakes out to base pricing of $29,925 for the V-6, $35,495 for the EcoBoost, and $42,425 for the GT–all with honest-to-goodness manual transmissions. The auto 'box will set you back an additional $1195 across the board.

Of course, as Ford points out, all auto-trans Mustangs come with remote-start, and the optional drive mode selector includes a wet/snow setting that, while it probably won't make the snow magically disappear (or snow tires magically appear), perhaps makes the convertible Mustang more than a summer-only cruiser.
