It wouldn't be a proper SEMA show without some wicked customized Ford Mustangs, and this year will be no different. Ford has revealed the four pony cars it's sending to Vegas, and predictably, they're all pretty damn cool. All six of this year's SEMA Mustangs are based on the refreshed 2013 model, making them even cooler—because they're, you know, new. 2013 Ford Mustang GT by Ringbrothers Inasmuch as the name of this Mustang's creator evokes images of dancing elephants and enormous tents, none are to be found. That's okay, because in place of any circus antics, the Ringbrothers's Mustang GT will wow SEMA audiences with its cool gray-over-black color scheme and zesty performance upgrades. Starting with a regular Mustang GT with the 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 engine and six-speed manual transmission, Ringbrothers added a supercharger and beefed up the suspension. Baer brakes help slow the Stang down from any supercharged fun time, while the carbon-fiber body kit will make bystanders slow down to admire the view.
2013 Ford Mustang Convertible by Stitchcraft As its name implies, Stitchcraft is all about interiors, and the firm's SEMA Mustang convertible reflects this. The V-6 Mustang's cabin is totally customized to match the car's exterior, but Stitchcraft didn't stop there. A nitrous system, Flowmaster exhaust, Hotchkis coil-over suspension, and Wilwood brake kit add some go to the droptop's show. But just for good measure, Stitchcraft also fitted a 3dCarbon body kit—can't let the go outshine the show, after all.
2013 Ford Mustang GT by DSO Eyewear Disappointingly, DSO Eyewear didn't simply fit its SEMA-bound 2013 Mustang GT with a giant pair of sunglasses. Or maybe that's a good thing. Either way, we dig the direction the brand actually took with its tuned Mustang. That's because it fitted a Whipple supercharger, boosting the V-8's output from 420 hp to 750. An Eibach suspension and Brembo brake kit help keep the burly Stang in check during maneuvers beyond blitzing forward in a straight line. DSO also installed a 3dCarbon body kit, big wheels, and a bumpin' Rockford Fosgate audio system.
2013 Ford Mustang GT by Mothers Red Mustangs are classically cool automobiles, and this GT model worked over by Mothers is no different. Besides boosting output from the 5.0-liter V-8 to a whopping 650 hp, Mothers also installed a track-ready suspension, bolted on some fat wheels and tires, and fitted a Boss 302–shaming carbon-fiber body kit from RTR. Inside, there are custom Sparco seats. Did we mention how good it looks in red?
2013 Ford Mustang by M2-Motoring M2-Motoring's Mustang features a rather classy look that melds classic touches with new-school tuner style. Shelby-style racing stripes are created from unpainted sections of the carbon-fiber hood, roof, and decklid, and contrast nicely with the Mustang's bright orange paint job. Speaking of Shelby, the rear lip spoiler is a subtle nod to the lip spoilers that adorned the Mustang tuner's wares in the '60s. Other carbon-fiber goodies include the front splitter and rocker-panel extensions. Finally, Wilwood brakes peek through handsome 20-inch (this is SEMA, after all) HRE wheels.
2013 Ford Mustang by 3dCarbon 3dCarbon is calling its SEMA Mustang effort the "Boy Racer," and we can see where the inspiration for that moniker came from. This 2013 Mustang may be a lot of things, but subtle ain't one of them. Actually, the name comes from the Mustang's body kit, which is the third generation of 3dCarbon's Boy Racer collection for the pony car. Besides the ground effects kit, we're fairly smitten with the gold-over-red paint scheme. Inside, the Mustang's cabin is worked over with Pecca leather, and the Recaro sport seats get red racing stripes. Read full story »from Car and Driver Blog http://blog.caranddriver.com | |||
