Kids with dreams of cruising in a real Hot Wheels Chevy Camaro should save their pennies. GM just unveiled the first full-size production Hot Wheels car: a Kinetic Blue 2013 Camaro.

The package is available on Camaro 2LT V-6 and 2SS V-8 trims in coupe and convertible body styles. It includes the metallic blue paint, red-lined 21-inch wheels, ZL1 spoiler and front upper grille, ground effects, two-tone matte hood graphic, rear taillight blackout graphic, fender flame graphics and Hot Wheels logos for the grille and decklid.

Inside, there are black leather seats and surfaces with red contrast stitching; Hot Wheels logos are embroidered on the front seats. There's no shortage of decals, with a Hot Wheels flame decal on each door and matching Hot Wheels sill plates.

"It's been nearly 20 years since I started designing cars for Hot Wheels, and I have yet to drive one home. Personally, I can't wait to open the doors and see the Hot Wheels Camaro sitting in the garage," Felix Holst, vice president of creative for the Mattel Wheels Division, said in a statement.

The Hot Wheels Camaro will go on sale in early 2013; the package will cost $6,995 and include a commemorative matching 1:64 scale car. But get 'em while they're hot; supply will be very limited.

"For production, it will be limited by time: the Hot Wheels edition will only be produced from January through June. While we don't have a set cap for the number we will make, we expect to produce about 1,500 during that period," Chevrolet spokesperson Monte Doran told Cars.com.
