2013 Nissan Sentra Priced, Starts at $16,770

2013 Nissan Sentra

Nissan has released pricing for the all-new 2013 Sentra. Although it is down on power with only 130 hp from its 1.8-liter four-cylinder, compared to the 140-hp 2.0 from the last gen, it seems Nissan is giving a discount on all the horses that you don't get. The new Sentra is available for $16,770, which is $440 less than the outgoing Sentra. It is over $1000 cheaper than both the Subaru Impreza and the Volkswagen Jetta, but only a Jefferson less than the Dodge Dart. Let's break this down.

  • Sentra S 6MT – $16,770 (CVT+$1270): Halogen headlights with LED accent lights, LED taillights, power locks and windows, four-speaker radio, six airbags, and A/C
  • Sentra SV CVT – $18,750: Includes S, adds illuminated steering wheel-mounted cruise control and audio controls, six-speaker sound system, premium cloth seat trim, chrome gauge trim, and security system
  • Sentra SR CVT – $19,650: Includes SV, adds 17-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels, fog lights, sport front and rear fascias, premium sport cloth seat trim, and rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light
  • Sentra SL CVT – $20,540: Includes SR, adds seven-spoke aluminum wheels, heated side mirrors with LED turn signals, push-button start, dual-zone HVAC, and Bluetooth

Two more trim levels will be available a few months after the car goes on sale on October 16: the FE+S for $18,440 and the FE+SV for $19,150. No standard features have been given on these trims yet.

Nissan claims that the 2013 Sentra will get better gas mileage thanks to the new CVT transmission and a lower drag coefficient (.29 vs. last year's .34). The manufacturer said the new Sentra would get 40 mpg on the highway in FE+S and FE+SV trim and 39 mpg in other trims. No figures were given with the manual transmission.
