On Monday, we presented this week's shifter and asked you to identify the make and model of the vehicle whence it came. This week's simple shifter, protruding out of a non-descript leather boot, proved challenging for you eagle-eyed commenters, but alumni commenter zr245 eventually identified the unit as belonging to an early-'80s Dodge Omni 024.
The Charger pictured here is from our December 1981 instrumented road test. In testing, this impressive highway rocket performed zero-to-sixty sprints in a blazing 10.7 seconds and quarter-miles went by in 17.6 seconds. Although the general fit and finish, inside and out, was nothing to write home about, we dubbed this one of the best ways to get cheap thrills on four wheels.
