BMW has debuted a diesel-equipped version of its flagship 7-series sedan in the US. Jack will not be driving one.
The 2014 BMW 740Ld xDrive features a direct-injected, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel expected to return a 25 to 30 percent increase in fuel efficiency. With its 8-speed automatic transmission, 255 horsepower and a blonde hair over 400 lb-ft of torque. The interior features are typical of BMW, featuring all the latest in optional Bavarian gizmos.
We're told the base MSRP for this big body Beemer will be $83,425. Expect to see them in showrooms this spring.
