Sbarro Espera is the trade school you wish you went to instead of high school or college. Founded by Franco Sbarro, he of the small-time concept and replica car company of the same name, Sbarro Espera is where young gearheads get to build groovy concepts and one-offs. Like the Sbarro Aria shown above, built by 26 students who had basically zero prior experience.
The low, pouncing two-door definitely has a sporting appearance, with its long nose, sloping tail, and driver and passenger seated mere inches ahead of the rear axle. The gunship gray color with splashes of orange has purpose and flair, and the puckered mouth and narrow headlight beams give a sinister visage. The Aria looks like an animal bent on vengeance, or the world's most emotionally maladjusted dust buster.
Details on the Sbarro concept are scant, and subject to a janky French-to-English transmogrification courtesy Google Translate. That said, we like what we can discern. Sbarro Espera says the concept weighs less than 2500 pounds, thanks to a body made of "composite materials." Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder sourced from Subaru—likely the 268-horse, 258 lb-ft boxer from the 2015 WRX—and OZ wheels and Recaro bucket seats round out the appointments.

The Aria appeared on the show floor at the Geneva Motor Show this week, and with its low, taut looks, it didn't look a bit out of place. Pretty good for a first-time effort from a bunch of kids.
