Toyota's latest concept car, the C-HR, is a hybrid crossover that sort of resembles a kit-lifted Honda Crosstour rollin' on 20s and strutting around the neighborhood in shoulder-shrug posture like Spike the bulldog from Looney Tunes. The concept car, announced this week and set to debut next month at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, has a decidedly sports-coupe-like body style. Its aggressive, muscular stance is punctuated by squinting, jewel-like headlights and a gaping grille, along with a swept-back profile.

No details were available for the hybrid powertrain, but the automaker says the crossover introduces new styling themes that hint at the future design direction of its vehicles.
While Toyota may be trying out new looks for the future, we wouldn't hold our breath waiting for anything close to the C-HR to showing up at dealerships. That rad red FT-1 race car concept we saw at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit way back in January has yet to appear anywhere else but in a video game and as a reimagined concept. Meanwhile, Managing Editor David Thomas is still waiting on his Toyota A-BAT pickup — introduced nearly seven years ago.
The C-HR concept will be unveiled Oct. 2, in advance of the public showing at the Paris Motor Show, which runs Oct. 4-19.
