Well, this is unexpected: Lamborghini has announced on its Facebook page that it will debut . . . something at the Paris auto show next week. We suspect that something is a car, based on the teaser sketch accompanying the Italian automaker's Parisian declaration, and that that car is something entirely fresh from Lamborghini.
Look closely at the black-and-white photo above—does that side window look a bit . . . long? Lamborghini's two current models, the Huracán and the Aventador, both feature stunted side glass typical of two-seat, mid-engine sports cars. Furthermore, Lamborghini has hinted that this car, which trademark filings indicate could be named Asterion, could seat more than two. A nebulous statement on an invitation to the vehicle's reveal in Paris reads: "Once perfection is achieved, you can just double it."
A '60s-era Lamborghini 400 (a 2+2) also pictured in the magazine spread lends credence to the idea that Lamborghini could be cooking up a new sports car with a back seat. Watch for our coverage of Lambo's big announcement next week to see what's in store—our interest is certainly piqued.
