Vehicles Affected: More than 6,000 model-year 2015 Honda Fit hatchbacks manufactured between April 11 and June 9, 2014
The Problem: The vehicles may have been assembled with an A-pillar interior cover designed for vehicles without side curtain airbags. The incorrect A-pillar interior cover may adversely affect the performance of the side curtain airbags in a crash, increasing the risk of an injury.
The Fix: Honda will begin notifying owners on Thursday, and dealers will inspect the A-pillar interior cover and install the correct cover, if necessary, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Honda at 800-999-1009 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or go to www.safercar.gov, for more info.
