Set to make its global debut at the 2014 Paris Auto Show in October, the 2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible will enter showrooms in early 2015.
Automotive News reports the convertible will arrive in the United States as the 228i, 228i xDrive and M235i, with the M235i xDrive model to arrive later in 2015. Price of admission begins at $38,850 for the base 228i, $40,650 for the base 228i xDrive, and $48,650 for the base M235i; the price for the M235i xDrive has yet to be announced.
Powering the 228i will be a 2-liter turbo-four driving 240 horsepower to the back through an eight-speed automatic while providing greater fuel efficiency than the outgoing 1 Series convertible's 18/22/27 mpg rating.
Aboard the M235i, the M Performance Package brings a 3-liter turbo-six to the front, sending its 320 horses through the rear via either eight-speed auto or six-speed manual.
