With official pricing and details on the American-spec Alfa Romeo 4C out in the open, Fiat-Chrysler has finally drafted a plan to sell the thing here. The company has announced 82 dealers in the U.S.– 79 of which currently serve Fiat, while three represent Maserati–which have pledged to establish an Alfa Romeo franchise.
Alfa Romeo has been fudging the launch of its official U.S. return for 14 years, and so the locking down of an actual dealer network feels like progress. Of course, there's still time for Fiat-Chrysler to push Alfa's return back yet again; the first 500 4C Launch Editions that were originally promised to arrive this month now won't arrive until "Q3," or, possibly, Julaugtember. But with Alfa's return so close, we're tentatively hoping this is it.
The little extra delay until later this summer will at least give dealers time to put up Alfa Romeo signage and train staff on the brand. Since all of the Fiat dealers on board have already built separate showrooms from their Chrysler-branded inventory, Alfa should be an easy add. So far, Alfa Romeo is setting up shop in 33 states, with the highest counts in Texas, California, and Florida. Weirdly, there isn't a dealer in New York City or Boston, but there are two in Arkansas and one in the swinging town of Williston, Vermont.

Fiat-Chrysler says each dealer will receive a 4C Launch Edition–which we interpret as a hint that the cars aren't yet sold out–and that more Alfa dealers should pop up later this year. Eventually, the goal is to place more than 300 Alfa showrooms across the country for whenever Alfa Romeo delivers its full lineup, which is likely to be detailed when that date is (probably) determined.
