We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Cadillac's ATS-V ever since we caught wind of its estimated specs: A 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 sending an estimated 455 horses and 445 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, all in a handy, BMW M3–sized package. Turns out, the good news gets even better: SAE testing confirms that the muscular Caddy makes nine more horses than GM originally estimated, a certified 464 ponies in total. Nice!
That's not just internet rumor, either. A Cadillac spokesman confirmed the new power rating for the upcoming performance coupe and sedan. The engine's official torque rating stays the same at 445 lb-ft. Our contact at Cadillac said the company isn't revising its acceleration or top-speed estimates to reflect the nine newfound horses, so the 3.9-second zero-to-60 estimate stands, as does the 185-mph estimated top speed.

We'll have to wait to find out what our testing uncovers. Believe us, we're dying to slide behind the wheel of the ATS-V and see what the tantalizingly priced street fighter does in our hands. Between the LF4 twin-turbo engine, an eight-speed auto or a six-speed stick, and no artificial speed limiter to contend with, the ATS-V looks to be a knockout.
