Of the 90 prancing horses that trotted though Sicily at the third Ferrari Cavalcade event last weekend, one particular steed stood out from the rest: this one-off, topless version of the striking F12berlinetta that Ferrari has christened the F12 TRS.
Commissioned by a client and inspired by the 1957 250 Testa Rossa, the dramatically styled F12 TRS takes the form of a barchetta, meaning that it has no roof—metal, fabric, or otherwise. But the F12 TRS is much more than just an al fresco version of Ferrari's flagship GT, as very little of the F12′s bodywork was left untouched in the transformation.
The front and rear fascias are unique, the hood now has a sexy see-through panel, and the chopped windshield is bracketed by blackout pillars that help create the illusion of a band of glass surrounding the cockpit. Out back, sexy fairings flow from the headrests, creating what Ferrari describes as a "longitudinal aerodynamic channel to deliver an innovative Venturi effect completed by a vent under the spoiler." Innovative! The aero-focused rockers and even the headlamp innards are also bespoke. Even the traditional Rosso Corsa paint was fudged with, having been "micalized."
Inside, the F12 TRS lacks the audio system, central air vents, floor mats, window controls, and "odds and ends holders"—so, bins—of the berlinetta, putting the focus squarely on driving. What little is left is formed from or covered in carbon fiber, leather, and faux suede.
Not much is different under the hood, it seems, as Ferrari quotes the same 730 hp and 509 lb-ft of torque for the F12 TRS's 6.3-liter V-12 as it does for the F12berlinetta. Ferrari provided no specifics about any weight gain or loss in the transformation, but simply claims that the F12 TRS "has the same exceptional performance figures as the F12berlinetta." This would theoretically enable it to vault from 0 to 60 in an estimated 3.1 seconds and to 100 mph in 7.1.

No word on how much the commissioning party paid for this very special cavallino or their identity—maybe a very famous guitarist who already has a one-off factory Ferrari?—but we're relatively sure it's one of the most prized horses in his or her stable.
