The Jaguar F-type is among our favorite getaway roadsters, what with its brusque exhaust note and rorty disposition. But when it comes to taking things along for the ride, its cargo area is a bit meager: About as useful as a carrying case for, well, an actual jaguar.
To right this injustice, Jaguar enlisted the assistance of French valise-specialist Moynat, which thoughtfully dedicated 900 man-hours to create a one-off, wooden trunk custom-fitted to the Jag's luggage compartment. The trunk, which resembles a large guitar case, is covered in cowhide, bound by straps, and finished inside with the brand's orange lining that most closely matches the F-type's own Firesand metallic hue. Jaguar claims that the luggage maker was able to slip an electric scooter inside the trunk, as well, but until we have photographic proof, it seems to us a load of codswallop.

No price was announced, and you—yes, even you—definitely cannot afford it. (Jaguar also peddles branded luggage for the layman, although it seems dubious that the entire, five-piece F-type set will fit in the diminutive 7-cubic-foot boot.) Nevertheless, Moynat's solution seems the most space-efficient method of packing for a swift escape, until the arrival of the 2015 F-type R Coupe, which offers considerably more usable cargo stowage between its haunches.
