7 Oddball Cars You Never Thought Would Be TV Stars

Since the postwar explosion of the automobile, television and film have conspired to make heroes out of everything from the Porsche 917K (Le Mans) to the asthmatic third-generation Camaro (Simon & Simon). The gravity-defying GMC of Colt Seavers was the baddest truck on the block. J.J. and Victor's Dodge ambulance was built by Hal Needham and our own Brock Yates (with help from engine guru and dragstrip legend Dick Landy) for the final running of the Cannonball Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. But there also have been more unlikely star cars on the small screen. Most recently and notably, Breaking Bad managed to make the punchline Pontiac Aztek almost cool, driven as it was by antihero drug kingpin Walter White. Walter's lawyer, Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk), now has his own show and his own hero vehicle; the chatter among gearheads after Better Call Saul's premiere basically boiled down to, Saul Goodman with Suzuki Esteem in Better Call Saul Bob Sweeney with AMC Gremlin in Justified Walter White with Pontiac Aztek in Breaking Bad Toyota Echo in Psych Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am in The Office Jessica Day with Volvo 145 in New Girl Citroën DS21 in The Mentalist
