This 2015 Ford Mustang Is the First to Break into the Nines [VIDEO]

The first 9-second 2015 Mustang is an all-motor beast
The 2015 Ford Mustang GT has barely hit the streets, but the folks at Bama Performance have already created a drag-strip dominator from one. What did they wring out of the new S550-chassis Mustang? Oh, just a 9.91-second quarter at 135 mph, no turbos or superchargers required:

The naturally aspirated build is an example of what can happen with more (and higher-grade) fuel, more air, and a healthy shot of nitrous oxide. Bigger injectors and FTW Purple 116-octane race fuel handle the boom, a cold-air intake and a Boss 302 manifold provide breathing, and a Nitrous Express plate fogger gives the added oomph to launch the pony into the nines.

Bama Performance also trimmed the new Mustang's curb weight down to 3450 pounds with driver and a quarter-tank of fuel (the 2015 GT manual we tested weighed 3810 with no driver and a full tank), while an off-road exhaust setup and Mickey Thompson slicks mean that this is no longer a streetable car. Still, if you were wondering whether a new Mustang and its independent rear suspension could raise some hell at the strip, these guys just proved it.
