Vehicles Affected: More than 80 model-year 2013-14 Jaguar XF luxury sedans, including XFR-S variants, manufactured between July 2, 2013, and April 11, 2014
The Problem: A component within the power assist steering system may collapse and restrict fluid flow within the system hose, causing a loss of power steering; this increases the effort needed to steer, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Jaguar will begin notifying owners on Aug. 29, and dealers will install an improved hose for free.
What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Jaguar at 800-452-4827, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more info.
