Nissan Releases Some Info on Production Juke NISMO [Paris Auto Show]

Nissan Juke NISMO

Regardless of whether you run hot or cold on the funny-looking Nissan Juke, anyone can appreciate more power and better handling. Aggressive styling never hurts, either, and all three upgrades characterize the NISMO-fied Juke scheduled to go on sale soon. We already told you that the Juke NISMO is coming our way, but we now know more about the hotted-up weird-mobile.

Thanks to a mildly massaged version of its turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder, the Juke NISMO gets a power bump from 188 to 197 hp. New front and rear bumpers, wider side skirts, a modified grille, and tailgate spoiler improve aerodynamics. The standard 17-inch wheels and 215/55 tires are replaced with larger 18-inchers wearing wider, lower-profile 225/45 rubber.

Inside, the NISMO-fication includes a special shift knob, steering wheel, pedals, gauges, and doorsills. More-supportive, suede-trimmed seats with red stitching are installed, along with faux suede trim for the steering wheel.

The Juke NISMO will be available with either front- or all-wheel drive; like standard Jukes, front-drive versions can be had with a manual transmission, while a continuously variable transmission is standard on models with four driven wheels. Sales start in Europe early next year, and it should arrive on our shores shortly after that. Now all we need is an affordable Juke-R.
