Lexus Prices 2013 RX350, RX450h, RX350 F Sport; Announces Eight-Speed Auto for F Sport

2013 Lexus RX450h

Lexus has announced pricing and availability dates for its updated 2013 RX crossover lineup. The changes for 2013 were mostly cosmetic and included fitting all RXs with Lexus's spindle grille, although this year also brings the addition of the new RX350 F Sport model. (For a complete rundown of the 2013 RX's updates, head over to our full story from the crossover's debut at this year's Geneva auto show.) The F Sport is available only with all-wheel drive, but the RX350 and RX450h continue to offer buyers a choice of two or four driven wheels. Complete pricing below:

  • RX350: $40,185 + $1400 for all-wheel drive ($235 increase over 2012)
  • RX350 F Sport: $47,875 (new model)
  • RX450h: $46,785 + $1400 for all-wheel drive ($675 increase over 2012)

Lexus also announced that in addition to a set of dark-finished 19-inch wheels, a sportier suspension tune, and unique front grille, the new RX350 F Sport gets a paddle-shifted eight-speed automatic. The workaday RX350 uses the same six-speed automatic as the 2012, and the RX450h still features a CVT. The 2013 RX350 and RX450h will go on sale this month, followed in July by the RX350 F Sport. We're eager to wheel an F Sport to find out whether it delivers anything beyond the traditionally milquetoast RX driving experience, although it probably won't stray too far from that well-worn path—Lexus likely isn't very eager to upset its bestselling apple cart. Given how well the latest GS sedans comport themselves, though, we may end up pleasantly surprised.
